Bismart participated in the Big Data Congress in Barcelona last week. Congratulations to our Marketing Director for his sucessful speech!
We are pleased to share with you the news of Bismart’s success at the Big Data Congress last week. The congress was held in Barcelona, Spain, and was organized by Big Data COE Barcelona. This event focuses on the most exciting things happening in the world of Big Data and technology right now.
At the event, Bismart’s Marketing Director, Ismael Vallvé, participated in a round table discussion titled “From Concept to Project”, where he discussed how to take a good idea and turn it into a final project.
Mr. Vallvé was joined on the panel by:
- Joan Mas, the Digital Technologies Division Director of Eurecat
- Nicolás Herrero, the lead data scientist at Wallapop
- Jose-Miguel Pulido, the co-founder of Promofarma
- Stefano Constantine, a data scientist at the Schibsted Media Group
The five shared their expertise using their real-life experience in taking good ideas and transforming them into actual projects with business value. These are some of the most exciting projects currently happening that involve Big Data.
Mr. Vallvé used Bismart’s groundbreaking Folksonomy project as an illustrative example. Bismart's Folksonomy is a new tool to process natural language documents, whether in text, audio, video, or even image format. It then uses a smart tagging system to help you get the information and insights you need from massive archives of unstructured data.
Folksonomy is currently being piloted with the Catalan Institute of Health to analyze their more than 180 million patient files. So far, the results are promising, giving the institute a simple way to get a more complete picture of how successfully their patients are being treated.
